I love my James Neligan NA126P. Purists may pooh-pooh its middle-of-the-range status (Stagg are the suppliers) and its small size and dark glossy finish are not to all tastes. But … well, pooh to you too. It sits on my knee just perfectly, stays in tune, catches the light beautifully within the wood grain (clearly visible through the finish) and is always ready to go. And the sound? Well, if I’m playing and you’ve something to say (other than ‘Shutup will you, CSI is on’) then you better shout, because Nelly’s sound is loud, perfectly balanced and soaked in tone from the growl/kaBOOM of the low E to the sing and sizzle up the dusty end on the cheaper strings. Suh-weeeeet. I’m thinking of doing a little horse-trading with my Parker P36 and my Breedlove Atlas SR just to get another, electro’d version of this dark beauty

This is me …
Singer / songwriter / guitarist (I know, another one) with a full toolbox of songs and ideas and boundless enthusiasm with the right people seeks (deep breath) – other musicians! Ideally not other SSGs, have explored that road fully, but violin players, tasteful lead guitar players, harmony vocalists, maybe clarinet, oboe, melodeon, even synths and such …
Be warned – although I appear to only be 23 (in a dim light) I am in fact a young 53, and I have tried to keep my ears open all that time, so beginning with the Beatles and currently favouring Billy Bragg and the Barenaked Ladies, with all (ALL!) the good stuff in-between. In my mind’s eye I want to create a hard-hitting, fast-moving two- or three-piece ensemble who mix tasteful and unknown covers with original material and make ‘em laugh, cry, kiss one another and think about what they’re hearing.

All messages dealt with in a friendly way, samples available online etc etc. I hope I’m not asking too much, but to quote Howard Moon ‘I have so much to give!’
